Abstract

The history of Poland has a significant role in V. O. Kluchevski’s historiosophical concept of the Russian history. According to V. O. Klyuchevsky, the problem of Polish-German relations in the X—XVI centuries in defining the place and role of Poland in the history of Western Europe and Russia is important. The history of Poland and Polish-German relations was considered by the researcher in connection with the history of Western Europe and Russia. The research topic was examined by the well-known scientist in the following range of problems: the settlement of the Western Slavs and the Germanic world, the political and military confrontation between Poland and the German world during the period under investigation, and the civilizational influence of the Roman-Germanic principle on the Polish Slavic state. This problem was not the subject of separate studies in V. O. Klyuchevski’s historical polonistics, and it is considered in this context for the first time.
