Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the nobility of The Grand Duchy of Lithuania in XIV—XVI centuries in
modern Russian historiography. The author describes and analyzes the key works of the historians (B. Floria,
M. Leskinen, A. Horoshkevich, M. Bychkova, S. Polehov, M. Dmitriev, V. Yanin, A. Gorsky, A. Kuzmin, S. Dumin,
A. Dvornichenko, A. Filyushkin, A. Kibiс, L. Arzhakova, M. Krom, A. Lobin, H. Lastouski), and the main research
directions are presented. It is noted that the main centers to study the Grand Duchy of Lithuania today are the Institute of
Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), the Institute of Russian history of the Russian Academy
of Sciences (Moscow), Moscow State University and St Petersburg University.
