Abstract

The modern period is characterized by insufficient knowledge of the legal status of individual subjects. They include
minors. The legal status of an individual is an integrative category that includes various elements. Currently, legal science does
not have
a single point of view on the structure of the legal status of an individual in General and a minor in particular. The purpose of this
study is to develop scientifically-based theoretical positions and conclusions, practical proposals and recommendations that
contribute to solving problems related to determining the legal status of a minor, taking into account the intersectoral approach. As a
result, potential opportunities for further modernization of the legislation regulating the procedure for determining the content of the
legal status of a minor as a participant in certain civil and family legal relations have been identified. Recommendations for
improving legislation and deepening theoretical knowledge were developed. A distinctive specific feature of the child's family status
is defined, and its age limits are indicated. Additional elements of the separate status of orphans and children left without parental
care are highlighted.
