Abstract

The article presents the functional role and distinctive features of real economy sector’s concept. The comparison of
theoretical approaches to the definition of “real sector” as well as advantages and disadvantages of each economy model and the
criteria of defining the real sector are included and given explanations. The features of the reproductive structure of the real
sector of the economy are highlighted.

The basis of the methodology of the research are the works that discover the essence of “real economy sector” of foreign
and native authors.

On the basis of the study, the author indicates the special purpose of the real sector of the economy and highlights the
functions that are classified and described.
