Abstract

The following paper focuses upon the analysis of the main concepts found in the PRC’s foreign policy during the
period of the policy of reforms and openness. Each new historical stage associated with the generation changes among
Chinese leaders was characterized by both continuity and emergence of new conceptual ideas within the country’s foreign
policy strategy. The paper studies China’s new strategic ideas and diplomatic initiatives, as well as the contemporary
approaches of the Chinese leadership to international problems, and the challenges the country faces.
