Abstract

Intellectual capital, embodied in highly qualified personnel, is becoming the main catalyst for economic development in the world. The article describes the problems of the structure of highly qualified personnel in the Republic of Belarus. Negative trends of the decreasing type of their reproduction are shown. The problems with their replacement are analyzed. The primary tasks that need to be solved for the preservation and accumulation of the intellectual component of
the Belarusian society are outlined.
