Abstract

This article is devoted to the criminal-legal characteristics of smuggling under the legislation of the Republic of Belarus. The danger of the analyzed crime is that it causes social harm, which is closely related to economic damage.
Since the state budget lacks significant funds, tension is created in expenditure items. Due to the lack of financial resources, the state minimizes costs for certain areas. Of course, smuggling has a negative impact on the rule of law in any state. At the same time, the boundaries of domestic crime are gradually being erased. The diverse communities that have
long been a business of smuggling are becoming increasingly sophisticated today. They are provided with financial, intellectual and material resources. It is very difficult, and often simply impossible, for law enforcement and customs
structures in a particular country to fight this phenomenon. In view of the designated aspects of public danger, we believe that the legislation in this area needs detailed improvement.
