Abstract

The introduction defines the object of research — the cultural and chronological interpretation of archaeological
materials obtained by Mikh. M. Charnyawski during archaeological exploration near the village of Balya Solnaya (Hrodno
region) in 1975. The relevance of the study is due to the lack of special works on these sites, as well as confusion in
numbering and their interpretation. The history of the study of sites in the area and the problem of their numbering and
interpretation are presented.

The main part deals with the collections obtained by Mikh. M. Charnyawski during reconnaissance in 1975 near
the above-named settlement. Technical and morphological analysis of flint materials and their graphic and photographic
fixation were carried out. Based on the features of the flint processing technology, the cultural-chronological belonging of
the materials was determined. In the part dedicated to the discussion, arguments are presented on why there was
confusion in the numbering of sites, and the cultural and chronological interpretation differs in the literature.

The results of this research can be applied to the study of the primitive society on the territory of Belarus and in
the field of protection of the historical and cultural heritage of our country.
