Abstract

The article is devoted to the attitude of Belarusian Catholic activists to the process of spreading neounion in the interwar period on the territory of Western Belarus, which was reflected on the pages of the newspaper “Krynica”. The
study aims to determine the position held by a particular community in relation to neounion. In order to solve the research problem, the issues of the newspaper “Krynica” presented in the library collection from April 1921 to September 1939 were analyzed. The results of the research showed that Belarusian Catholic activists had a negative attitude to the spread of neo-union. They explained this by the fact that the phenomenon did not satisfy the interests of
the Belarusian people, did not bring any religious results and was of a political nature. However, they were positive about the idea of uniting the Orthodox and Catholic Churches.
