Abstract

The article updates the role of the R&D sector development in order to grow the competitiveness of domestic products based
on the development of intellectual potential. The main indicators characterizing the effectiveness of the development of the R&D market in the Republic of Belarus have been studied on the basis of the empirical data for 2017—2021. A correlation analysis and an analysis of the elasticity of the analyzed indicators were carried out to assess the relationship of the individual factors. The analysis showed the effectiveness of the expenditures, invested in the creation of knowledge-intensive products. The development prospects of the R&D sector in the Republic of Belarus are presented on the basis of the analytical data and a number of the author’s proposals.
