Abstract

The article is devoted to the possibilities of using epitaphs as sources for studying the worldview of the gentry of the Belarusian provinces, the peculiarities and challenges of working with such sources. Epitaphs from the tombstones of the nobility allow us to identify the value orientations of the representatives of the estate, help to compose a class role model. The difficulties of working with such sources are related to the level of their preservation, the number of tombstones suitable for analysis and the degree of representation of all groups of the gentry society.
