Abstract

The article examines evaluative approaches to the Union of Krevo and its consequences in the civilizational
context in Russian conservative historiography of the imperial period. In the civilizational context, the Krevo Union
was considered as a transition of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania to Western Latin civilization. In Russian conservative
historiography, this topic is closely connected with a number of topics such as the history of the Grand Duchy of
Lithuania itself, the history of Western Russia, and the history of Russia and Poland.
